China's Lunar Exploration Milestone: Chang'e-6 Mission Deemed a Complete Success

Chinese officials have declared the Chang'e-6 mission, the first to retrieve samples from the moon's far side, a resounding success. President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to all involved, expressing China's commitment to further advancing deep-space exploration and fostering international collaboration. Key figures from the mission shared their reactions to this historic achievement.

Wang Qiong, Deputy Chief Designer of the Chang'e-6 Mission, reflected on the journey: "It's been 53 days since the launch. Through collective effort, we have completed the world's first mission to return samples from the moon's far side. I'm exhilarated. Starting my career with the Chang'e Program, I feel immense pride in this accomplishment."


Zhang Yuhua from the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation reminisced on the mission's significance: "We sent off the probe with high hopes, and seeing it succeed is incredibly fulfilling. Spanning 20 years from 2004 to 2024, today's success is a gift to China's lunar exploration program. President Xi's message affirmed our hard work, making our efforts feel deeply meaningful."



Peng Deyun from the Beijing Aerospace Control Center highlighted the mission's complexity: "The Chang'e-6 mission is China's most intricate lunar endeavor yet, demanding relay communication, precise coordination of multiple components, and rigorous flight control. We often had only one chance to get things right, with no room for error. Completing this mission is a source of great pride and honor."

Huang Hao from the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation expressed optimism: "Today's success is incredibly inspiring, boosting our confidence for future space missions."
